Jason Horwitch is a screen writer and producer. He is a consulting producer and writer for the fourth season of SouthLAnd. He wrote the episodes "Community" and "Risk."


Earlier careerEdit

He made his screenwriting debut with the feature Finding Graceland in 1998. He wrote the television features Joe and Max (2002), The Pentagon Papers (2003) and Evel Knievel (2004). He also served as a co-producer for Evel Knievel.

In 2004 he created the series Medical Investigation for NBC. It ran for 20 one-hour episodes before being cancelled in 2005. He was credited as a co-executive producer throughout the series run and wrote three episodes. The series featured the cases of an elite team of medical experts of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) who investigate unusual public-health crises, such as sudden outbreaks of serious and mysterious diseases. The series had a cross-over episode with Third Watch. Third Watch was executive produced by Southland show runner John Wells.

In 2010 he created the espionage drama Rubicon for AMC. He wrote the first two episodes and was initially credited as an executive producer but left the crew after four episodes. The series was cancelled after its first season.


He joined the crew of SouthLAnd as a consulting producer and writer for the fourth season in 2012. He wrote the third episode "Community" and the ninth "Risk."
